An LED replacement for halogen G9 capsule lamps. The G9 3w has a molded shell which is similar in appearance to halogen G9 lamps, and is frosted to give a soft light output.
At 200 lumen these G9s are only designed to replace an approx 20-25w halogen capsule (an old style 40w G9 bulb will be brighter), but in most light fittings these LED bulbs produce more than enough light. These lamps can be dimmed with use on compatible LED dimmers. Dimming range of 10-100%.
Yes, halogen capsules are cheaper, but they are fiddly to install, get very very hot and don't last very long - this LED version is a no-brainer. 30,000 hour average life - expected payback time at 8 hours user per day = <6 months.
