This bulb is great for outdoor, decorative festoon lighting where long life is essential, or indoors where ever you don't need or want a lot of light. The tough polycarbonate material makes this LED golf ball much, much less likely to break than glass equivalents.
It has a bayonet cap - B22, and is exactly the same size as a regular incandescent golf ball bulb. The standard size means that this bulb is compatible with a massive range of light fittings.
These decorative filament golfball lamps are often used in outdoor and indoor festoon light, string lights, festival or party lighting, and night lights.
These lamps are IP20 rated and can only be used in an outdoor fitting or festoon which has an IP44 rating or higher. If the fitting (lamp holder) is not IP rated the lamps may suffer water ingress causing the LEDs to fail. In this situation any warranties would be void.
As LED products produced using new technologies are used with old dimmer technology, achieving effective and smooth dimming can be challenging. For this dimmable lamp Pro-Lite have tested, and recommend Varilight V-Pro dimmers. Other dimmers designed for use with LED lights may also work, but dimmers designed for halogen lights must not be used as this could damage the light and/or the incompatible dimmer module. Always consult the instructions for your dimmer - if in any doubt use the recommended dimmer from Varilight.
